Speaking on his Internet show on Wednesday, libertarian pundit, gun rights activist and former resident of a D.C. prison Adam Kokesh partially defended the actions of Jerad and Amanda Miller, the far-right extremists who recently killed two police officers, a civilian and themselves in a Las Vegas public shooting.
Railing against the Southern Poverty Law Center and USA Today for acknowledging how the Millers were influenced by Kokesh, the host swore vengeance, saying that the SPLC and USA Today are not going to get away with it this time.
He also argued that because Americas political institutions including the police have become homicidal against freedom, it was wrong to see the Millers unprovoked killing spree as acts of murder rather than self-defense.

Ultimately calling the attack an example of not necessarily unjustified violence, Kokesh insinuated that the Millers killing spree was the governments fault.

I didnt want to have to write about guns again any time soon as the subject had been beaten to death, but here we go again with more right-wing wackjobs deciding that the federal government is tyrannical and that killing police officers and shooting up a Wal-Mart somehow will trigger a revolution. Revolution, oppressive government, tyranny and FEMA death camps are common buzz words tossed about on almost any conservative or gun forum, website or Facebook page without the realization that if they did indeed live under a dictatorship, they would have been marched to a ditch and shot en masse.

Alex Jones, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Ron Paul and some other right-wing political pundits and politicians fan the flames of paranoia and mistrust for a living. Seriously, this is how they make their money, by keeping their followers angry, agitated and living in fear that any moment now President Obama is coming for their guns and their way of life. One of the Las Vegas shooters Facebook posts looking for a gun shows just how angry and convinced that the government is a tyrannical oppressor some of these more unhinged individuals are. I have blurred out his name as other media outlets have reported it and I do not believe in giving them the attention they may have sought.
As Paul Waldman points out in the Plum Line at the Washington Post, some of the blame laid at the feet of conservative pundits and politicians for whipping up these mentally disturbed individuals is indeed justified:
Meanwhile, conservatives have become prone to taking the political disagreements of the moment and couching them in apocalyptic terms, encouraging people to think that if Democrats have their way on any given debate, that our country, or at the very least our liberty, might literally be destroyed.

Less than a week after Attorney General Eric Holder revived a task force to look at domestic terrorists, a married couple aligned with the anti-government Patriot movement shot dead two Las Vegas police officers, killed a civilian bystander, and then turned their guns on themselves. Jerad and Amanda Miller had recently spent time at the ranch of Cliven Bundy during his standoff with the federal government. Police say they proclaimed "the beginning of the revolution," and laid an American Revolutionary flag and a swastika symbol on the dead officers bodies. The Las Vegas shooting came just two days after a man tied to the sovereign citizen movement attacked a Georgia courthouse, throwing smoke bombs and shooting a sheriffs deputy, who returned fire and killed him. Authorities say the shooter, Dennis Marx, had homemade explosives, and food and water, suggesting he planned to take hostages. Holders decision to revive the domestic terror unit comes five years after Republican outrage led the Obama administration to withdraw a key report on the resurgence of the radical right-wing. We are joined by Mark Potok of the Southern Poverty Law Center, which monitors U.S. hate groups and extremists."The [right-wing militia] movement is on fire at the moment, and it may get worse before it gets better," Potok says.

AARON MATÉ: A candlelight vigil was held outside of a Las Vegas pizza restaurant last night where two city police officers were shot dead on Sunday. The shootings were carried out by a husband and wife who had long spouted right-wing antigovernment views online. According to police, Jerad and Amanda Miller shot the the officers at point blank range. They took their weapons and ammunition and covered the bodies with a flag reading "Dont tread on me." The flag dates back to the revolutionary war, but more recently has been associated with the American Tea Party movement and patriot groups. The Millers also reportedly pinned a note on one of the officers body saying, "This is the beginning of the revolution." The couple then fled to a Walmart where they killed a third person. After a shootout with police, Amanda Miller reportedly shot dead her husband and then turned the gun on herself. Kevin McMahill is assistant Sheriff in Clark County, Las Vegas.
KEVIN MCMAHILL: Were trying to make a determination what it is that could have been the motive, what was the motivation behind their targeting police officers and walking in with no warning and executing our officers. I can tell you that there is no doubt that the suspects have some apparent ideology that is along the lines of militia and white supremacists.
AMY GOODMAN: On June 7, one day before the shooting, Jerad Miller wrote on Facebook, "The dawn of a new day. May all of our coming sacrifices be worth it." Five days earlier, he wrote on Facebook, "We can hope for peace, we must, however, prepare for war... To stop this oppression, I fear, can only be accomplished with bloodshed." Both Jerad and Amanda had recently spent time at Cliven Bundys Nevada ranch during a recent standoff there between armed militia members and federal agents. In April, Miller was interviewed by Reno NBC affiliate, KRNV, at the ranch.

Despicable conspiracy lunatic Alex Jones and ammosexual gun fetishist Larry Pratt had an interesting conversation this week. That is, if your definition of interesting is paranoid, delusional, and hateful. They were discussing how the Obama administration was going to use the US military to target Teabagger groups. Lunatics like Jones and Pratt have been using the 2009 Department of Homeland Security report on the increasing danger of extremist right wing groups to foment anger, fear, and violence. Entitled Right-wing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment, the report warns about the rise of radical militias, white supremacists, and other right wing, anti-government groups. Considering recent events, the report was actually quite prescient. Of course, Jones is completely unhinged and claims that the recent shootings have all been False Flag ruses to confiscate guns, or something.
They are currently foaming at the mouth about a recent Washington Times report about a 2010 Pentagon directive, which was merely a routine update of previous directives from past administrations, describing how and under what circumstances the military can use force to quell domestic unrest. Turns out the only appropriate situations are in extraordinary emergency circumstances where prior authorization by the president is impossible. In the crazy world of Alex Jones, this means that it is official and has been confirmed that the military is training with tanks, armored vehicles, drones to take on the American people, mainly the Tea Party. Pratt responded:
Well, hes certainly not thinking that Muslims are a threat, so hes turning to his political opponents, declaring that theyre the enemy and ignoring the fact that Muslims from time to time have a tendency to go boom.
Listen to the gibberish yourself:
