a stroke and lost control. He has a broken back and neck and doctors say he is not responding although his wife says he is. He can move his feet.

(39,215 posts)there is traumatic brain injury but she is in denial and is not ready to accept it. I do not think anyone is ready for this - my younger brother who is bipolar is taking it very hard because no one told him it was going to be so bad.
I thank all of you for your wishes and your support. I will continue to update.

(7,888 posts)My youngest brother survived a similar incident, without the broken back or stroke. He was not expected to survive. Yet he did with fantastic medical care and being pieced together with steel reinforcements and multiple surgeries. Thank the gods, he was at last willing to get out of the biker's saddle.

(39,215 posts)is in an induced coma and all the rest is still true but she was telling me that he can move his toes and that when they give him a pain test on his thumb he tries to set up. They are getting a full body cast ready for him and that is going to be something to see as we are talking about a 6 ft. 6 inch man who is like the football players we see on tv.
All of this sounds good to me.
Again thank all of you for your concern.

(39,215 posts)There was just too much damage to his body and brain for life to be sustained. He died peacefully with most of his family surrounding him. The good thing is that he lived a good life and in the last years was able to do many of the things that he had always dreamed of doing including riding a motorcycle.
Thank all of you for your loving support.
