let us see, it's done with skin color & religion & amount of property owned & and Income and where you come from virtually any other factor.

Oh and I am beginning to think that most anyone does it, only to justify nothing more than thier ego.

Someone, somewhere, is getting something they don't deserve.

Liberals are afraid that someone, somewhere, isn't getting what they need.

Although not in a contentious way, I do want to add FDR's definition: A conservative is a man with two perfectly good legs who still cannot take one step forward.

or words to that effect.

It means, 'satisfied with the status quo'.

In the GOP it means pretty much what the OP says. The GOP are NOT conservatives though, they are radical reactionary statists.

they aren't even aware what they are ...

I get into it with these pseudo intellectual types and sometimes the refer to me as a statist ...

One thing they are really good at is being so obliviously to what THEY are while putting it off on the evil liberal boogyman.

This is an absolute truth. Conservatives fear being on the bottom rung of the social or economic ladder, especially when, by all rights, they deserve to be there (for example, due to squandering a good opportunity for education, or a history of cheating rather than working hard to get what they need.)

This kind of person feels entitled not to be at the bottom because of some physical quality, (ex: skin color, good looks) or social status (wealth, family history, or being the "right" religion).
