Phew! We are saved from evil brown, disease ridden, murderous, terrorist, mothers and children.

A planeload of single mothers and children arrived in this gang-ridden Honduran city on Monday, ferried back on a U.S.-chartered flight as an unprecedented surge of Central American migrants has overwhelmed U.S. border enforcement officials in recent months.
It was the first in a series deportation flights that are expected to leave the United States for Honduras carrying only women and children in the coming days.
A total of 18 mothers, 13 girls and nine boys, who were being held at a U.S. detention center in Artesia, N.M., were scheduled to be on the Immigration and Customs Enforcement charter Monday. But two passengers fell ill and didn't board, officials said.
Their return to Honduras came at President Obamas direction, according to an official at the Department of Homeland Security, who requested anonymity in discussing the development.
This is just the initial wave, the official said. Our border is not open to illegal migration and we will send recent illegal migrants back.

(17 posts)This issue -- the children trying to leave Honduras and our terrible response to it -- has really been bothering me lately.
That these words are now enshrined on the Statue of Liberty angers me:
Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!
I hope you can support this petition I created this evening. it is purely a symbolic gesture; I am at a loss how to have any significant impact, so symbolism is all I have.

Remove the plaque memorializing Emma Lazarus's poem from the
base of the Statue of Liberty.
Given the lack of constructive response in the United States to the crisis
of refugee children leaving, in large part, Honduras, to escape horrendous
difficulties, including rape, murder, and impressment into cartel-run gang;
and given the level of xenophobia and vitriol that is directed toward these
children by far too many Americans, it seems hypocritical for us to continue
to display Emma Lazarus's famous sonnet so prominently in our greatest
symbol of freedom, the Statue of Liberty.
Therefore, we petition to have The National Park Service remove the memorial
plaque from the base of the Statue of Liberty until such time as the US once
again deserves it.
Retaining the plaque amounts to self-aggrandizing, hypocritical puffery given
the current prevalent attitude in the US
