What a disconect!
Oklahoma City NBC affiliate KFOR had a reporter fly to Africa with Thunder player Serge Ibaka to document his visit to his home country, Congo. West praises the work that Ibaka does with orphans in his home country. Ibaka sounds like a really nice guy doing what he can for children in his home country. I in no way way to diss Ibaka for his work back home.
What I see is a disconnect when KFOR is praising Ibaka for his work in Congo at a time when there are parents in Central America who are so terrified over the safety of their children that they are willing to send them to the US by themselves to have a chance to live. How are way too many Americans reacting to this? They just about have the pitchforks out. This is a humanitarian crisis and too many Americans are reacting to this in a far less then Christian attitude.
I made a comment to KFOR that apparently it is acceptable to fly to another continent to help orphan children but not acceptable to help children on our own doorstep. Furthermore, what was the story KFOR carried this morning about the illegal children? An interview with a doctor talking about his concern that the children might have brought diseases with them. Way to go KOFR, present a story that may stir up the pot even more, and not in a good way.
