When I grew up your local town usually had a booming downtown business. Maybe a 5 & 10, maybe a Pharmacy, perhaps a Hardware store and usually a few restaurants, bars and a movie theater to boost.

Now across the country these Main Streets are ghost towns as these businesses are shuttered because they can no longer compete against the Wal-Marts and other superstore giants. These Wal-marts have shut down family run businesses that brought decent incomes to family in favor of creating a lower middle class now reliant on the government for basic necessities. And in place of those businesses you'll find things like Pay-Day loan stores, Car Title Loans or Rent-to-Own Furniture places - business meant to take the already struggling family and make them even more poor.

Shame.

While it's making regular folks poorer, it's making the executives RICHER! Don't you think that is something worth celebrating? Every time a mom and pop shop goes under, a Wal-Mart executive gets a BMW. It's so beautiful......
