I keep hoping that Don Eugene Siegelman gets a Presidential pardon.
Please keep this hope alive.
Why hasn't he been pardoned?

(32,016 posts)It was Elena Kagan who led the effort to keep him in prison when she was Obama's solicitor general. She was then rewarded with a Supreme Court nomination. It would look bad on her if they pardoned him now.

Put Bradley Manning on the list, too.
We have over 2 million in jail don't we? Forgive me if I left somebody out that should be on this list.

(62,325 posts)was a political witch hunt. And we know who is responsible, KARL ROVE who still walks free although it's hard for him to appear anywhere in public without being reminded of his crimes against the people of this country, and others.
It is simply SHAMEFUL that Democrats have not stood up for this good Democrat and allowed a horrific injustice to go unpunished.
Thank you for the reminder. We should all post about this on a regular basis.
Siegelman stood up for us when he was able to do so. I remember him calling out Bush/Cheney when he was Governor, on the stolen election of 2000. Clearly he was targeted to silence him, and his own party has done little to end this injustice.
