(53,339 posts)(n): Option 6 is when an individual procures a sample of the zombie virus then introduces it to a population center, effectively causing the zombie apocalypse. Whenever an individual is faced with a difficult decision (such as which college they should enroll in) and is unable to choose any of their options for the situation, they may instead choose Option 6. Since the zombie apocalypse has begun, they will no longer have to make a choice.
"Harvard or Yale?...Harvard or Yale?...Eh, fuck it. Time for Option 6!"

(182,829 posts)pinboy I had no idea. I have always thrown Option 6 into DU polls as a space filler - a break for the conclusion. Absolutely hilarious.
BTW autocorrect changes pinboy to pu boy.

(73,559 posts)I enjoy sitting out by my pond, feeding the birds and fish. I tend to spend a lot of hours there, although I don't tend to identify them as "idle."

(182,829 posts)I weighed a few options and went with idle. The strange situations we have seen struck me as even weirder because they were in the middle of the week when I would think there are plenty of other things to do.

(73,559 posts)I wasn't disagreeing with "idle." It has both a positive and negative potential, and correctly so.
You are, of course, always most welcome to come here to site out at the pond. You've always been among the people here I have the utmost respect and appreciation for.

(162 posts)at the intelligence shared, the heartfelt sympathy expressed and the healthy debate and disagreements that have passed through here. I get what goes on here, not to worry....

(11,833 posts)Like you, I enjoy reading healthy disagreements. Some posters I disagree with on some stuff, then later they blow me away with their intelligence and compassion. Progressives benefit both from activists who criticize the status quo & want to improve things and from optimists who celebrate how far we've come & how we'll continue. It's not easy - powerful forces of misinformation & ignorance align against us. But in sheer numbers, we're a strong force. Particularly when we share information and work together. Welcome here. Have fun!

Of course free time assumes I've done all the mowing and trimming, cleaned the pool and washed the DD's.
We also spend a lot of time on the road on our bikes in the spare time.
Need to borrow the tractor off my brother and do some bush hogging...

(63,912 posts)it's nice and quiet and I can browse all the books.
I also browse online...visit DU and check out the latest round of thinking on issues. Then I often do my art research and find out the latest museum offerings.
Since I like to travel, I search out trips that I might want to take. That relaxes me a great deal...
