6/16/01 w bush on Putin

"I looked the man in the eye. I found him to be very straight forward and trustworthy and
we had a very good dialogue. I was able to get a sense of his soul. He's a man deeply
committed to his country and the best interests of his country and I appreciate very much
the frank dialogue and that's the beginning of a very constructive relationship," Bush said. June 16, 2001

BTW What I also remember from that meeting was that w invited Putin to his
"ranch" in Texas and Putin told w that he would be honored to ride (horses) w/
the President and w had to say that he doesn't know how to ride.

The damage the Supreme Court did to the world installing w & Cheney into power
is really staggering.

5. Bush was not the only one. Obama in 2009 called for a "reset" in relations with Russia.

Governor Romney, I’m glad that you recognize that al-Qaeda is a threat, because a few months ago when you were asked what’s the biggest geopolitical threat facing America, you said Russia, not al-Qaeda; you said Russia, in the 1980s, they’re now calling to ask for their foreign policy back because, you know, the Cold War’s been over for 20 years.

President Obama in the debate with Romney.
