The two political Parties divide the nation into red team vs blue team and they refuse to cooperate or compromise on anything. They do not agree on anything, unless it is for war. Government is frozen. Even if there is a disaster, they will find a reason not to cooperate. In this last stage, our government cannot survive. It will die. People will give it no legitimacy. The greedy and monied interests will run what is left of our "democracy". Elections will become meaningless.

The only way to save our country is if one Party can win a majority in the House and the Senate and the Presidency and re-do the rules so that obstruction can no longer happen. Whichever Party can accomplish this feat, can pass whatever agenda they choose. They may choose to do away with the IRS, Social Security, food stamps, and all social programs? They may choose to do away with the present tax system and have nothing but a minimal flat tax? They may choose to be in permanent war?

Or they may choose to expand government? They may increase taxes on the wealthy? They may take off the cap on FICA taxes? They may move up to a single-payer healthcare system? They may create a socialistic jobs program and put people to work re-building our infrastructure or sweeping the streets? They may pass all types of new regulations?

Is that what the country really wants? Do they really want obstruction at any cost? Or if either Party really got their way, would the people rise up and throw them out on their ear? Do Americans really know what they want? Will we have no choice but to resort to majority rule?

...and the corporatists.

Unfortunately, though, many tools of repression have been put into place in the last couple of decades in order to neutralize that natural demographic shift.

Militarization of law enforcement, laws that favor the wealthy and powerful, destruction of the middle class, the ever-increasing surveillance state.....and so on.

It's an epic battle for America.
