If the states that want to keep the death penalty really wanted to execute in a humane way, there is no need for the fiasco that's occurring unless it's by design.

(21,088 posts)Why does no country with the death penalty use inert gas asphyxiation? It seems like the most humane way of doing an essentially inhumane thing. Perhaps it's not fearsome enough? Not enough sense of retribution or punishment?
If I were to commit suicide, it's the method I'd use.

(21,691 posts)I have no moral qualms about the death practice in theory - it's far more humane than locking someone in a cage forever - but object to its practice, with the impoverished being poorly represented, trial error, etc. Suicide should be freely and legally available to those in the last stages of diseases that promise a horrible death. I am 100% pro-choice, no conditions.
