(5,756 posts)I love, love, love the pics you posted. Thank you!
I've posted this thought in other threads. I believe that many, many of the masses in both Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank would like for all of this to be over so they could all just live normal lives.
I believe what we are seeing is the extremists on both sides trying to effect their will on a region that will never accept that. Extremist Hamas is wrong for firing rockets into Israel. The extremists of the Likud like Bibi Netanyahu and his ministers are wrong for the extremely out of proportion response they have taken to those very ineffective rockets and tunnels.
I think my statements support the idea you were trying to convey with your OP. I believe that the Jewish peoples and the Arab peoples such as the Palestinians could live along side one another peacefully if not for the extremists on both sides directing policy in the name of their peoples.

(797 posts)It seems to me its the state of Israel fighting a terrorist organization thats vowed to wipe Israel off the map, their weapons are a constant barrage of rockets and now it seems kidnapping Israeli citizens and killing them.
I dont see what other course of action Israel can pursue.

(8,170 posts)Truth is famously the first casualty of war, and the Israeli war on Gaza is no exception. Yesterday Jon Donnison of the BBC pulled the rug out from under the Israeli governments pretext for the Gaza onslaught with a series of tweets about a conversation hed had with Israeli police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld about the kidnapping and murder of three Israeli teens in the West Bank in June.
