"I am not Trayvon Martin"? Don't be so sure -

Because of interracial marriage and interracial adoptions, many white people have treasured children, grandchildren, cousins, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and in-laws who are black. We white adults responsible for young black children work constantly to raise our children to be both proud of their heritage and secure as members of our family. We know what it is to be with other white people and the hear the chummy racist remark by someone unaware of our connections. We know what it is to see how other people treat our child, and to wonder if the child is being treated that way because their skin is black. We know that this is not a post-racial society.

The first time my child was harassed by police was when he was about 14. He (is bi-racial) and his African American were riding bikes. They decided to go off in different directions. the local police saw them do this and decided it was a drug deal and chased my son down. they even accused him of posessing a crack pipe when in fct it was nothing more than a bike wrench.

they were not only racist cops, they were stuipd.
