SYG, Trayvon, and the GOP convention in Tampa

OK, let me preface this by saying I hope I am wrong about the theory I am going to put forward. I hope so, but these years have taught me that horros stranger than fiction can come forth, especially with the media supporting them.

OK, of course, the right wing media has lept all over the Tray martin shooting, trying to defend zimmerman and that stupid law. Now we have Neo Nazis "patrolling" Sanford. The idea that this issue would come up in Florida, where a contentious GOP convention is going to be, seems a little too coincidental.

Already, they are trying to make "clean zones" where you cannot bring so much as a squirt gun or a mask. Of course, the right wing pointed out that they could NOT ban people with concealed weapons permits. So, you will have the cops beating down anyone whose sign can be thought of as a weapon, while the right wingers will be able to parade with their guns out, ready to act under SYG if they fell "threatened."

And if such a slaughter happens, it will be a great time to blame those "hippies" for starting a riot, and of course, it would take the camera away from the fact that die hard Right wingers are going to try to steal the nomination from Mitt, so they can run, oh, Jeb Bush? And it would be a good chance to show that if they did not lock Tampa down, there would have been more causalties.

Feel free to talk me down folks, but as is, I literally plan to be the hell out of the state that week.

at the convention, there might be trouble. He is registered as a democrat but I expect that political leaning has probably changed.
He is now the poster boy for SYG and pro gun legislation. Radical elements of the GOP and "conservative" cause have made him their hero.

Are they planning to display GZ's picture prominently at the convention? I wouldn't put it past them. The GOP has a stake in rabble rousing. If they can get Blacks, Whites and Mexicans to fight/kill/attack each other they will have reduced the voting power that can re-elect Obama.

I also plan to stay away from anywhere here that there's going to be conventioneers or protests as well. Along with the syg issue you bring up which is very valid, I have health issues that I can't risk being tasered.

As many of the cops got their appetite whetted by bashing protestors at Baywalk. (for the rest of DU, a mall complex whose closing was blamed on "protestors and street urchins." I do not need to decode the dog whistles there, do I? )

Now all we need is the Scientologists to weigh in (like lamenting their Charter schools that got broken up) and we in the Tampa Bay area can enjoy a two county, three city clusterf__k of crazy. And let's not forget that we will have a brain trust in town that includes Jeb Bush, Rush Limbaugh, Allen West, G Gordon Liddy, and all of Fox (in the henhouse) news. Anyone who still prays, offer us some please.

There was a guy who went berserk and just started shooting here in my state I think, not to long ago and the police ended up using one of their armored cars to evacuate some of the neighbors who were pinned down. IIRC, an officer was killed during that incident

I know the idea of cops that are armed like miltary is scary, but the truth is, we have gangs here that are better armed than the military. Laugh if you want to, but many of our gangbangers have had more experience with ak47s and hand grenades than many of the poor bastards fighting in Iraq, and yes, they are always well equipped.
