Nixon memories: the vice president

The Nixon presidency, oficcially the second worst presidency in American history, is unusual in the fact that both the president and the vice president resigned leaving us with an unelected president.

Vice president Spiro Agnew became the second vice president to resign when he resigned on Oct. 10, 1973. "Agnew resigned and then pleaded no contest to criminal charges of tax evasion, part of a negotiated resolution to a scheme wherein he was accused of accepting more than $100,000 in bribes during his tenure as governor of Maryland."

Check out the Wikipedia article; it's interesting:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spiro_Agnew#Resignation

Ironically, the worst presidency in American history also involved an unelected president: George W. Bush.

An epic pinhead who got run out of office for, as Hunter Thompson said, taking cash bribes across his desk in the White House.
