Cat eating Python caught in Port St Lucie, FL

http://www.wptv.com/news/region-st-lucie-county/port-st-lucie/port-st-lucie-police-sergeant-john-holman-nabs12-foot-cat-eating-burmese-python

A Port St. Lucie police sergeant, who was responding to 911 calls of a very large snake, located a 12-foot, 120 pound Burmese python in waist-high brush Friday morning.

Residents believe the snake has been eating neighborhood cats.

Police say that around 7:20 a.m., Sergeant John Holman arrived in an empty lot on S.E. Faith Terrace and found a dead cat.

Side note: I've lived in this area for 8 years and I've never heard of a python here. Further south yes, but we are 50 miles from that area. Scary though. This is about 3 miles from my house. Freaking out right now because of my little dachshunds who are fearless, but dumb as all heck!! They played with snakes in the backyard. Not cool at all!

So, the python didn't eat it?

My wife worked at a vet's office and said they were always treating dogs for snake bites and injuries involved in dog vs. snakes; but rarely a cat vs. snake. She said the vet told her a cat is too cautious and quick while a dog just goes at the snake full bore without any restraint.
