General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsYou know who is happy these days? Cheney
We are back bombing, in Iraq.
And the sad fact of why we are is because a bunch of fanatics got hold of the weapons and ammo we gave to the Iraq army. The same army we kicked the ass of as they high-tailed away from our invasion.
Ya think cheney didn't know the location and vulnerability of all those warehouses of US weapons?
Cheney has to be one happy camper. Last we heard of him he was calling Obama names for not going back into Iraq. And now.... here we go!!

(13,685 posts)Slaughtered with American weapons. Like the OP says, the Iraqi army is no good. Never has been, never will be. They turned over the American weaponry to the enemy and now the enemy is using it to slaughter people.
Can anyone see why conspiracy theories get started? Here we have tons and tons of American armor and ammo being used against people, slaughtering them, and now we are forced to do just what cheney wants, get back fighting in Iraq. You think cheney knew where the warehouses of American weapons were? And wasn't he on tv last month calling Obama names because Obama wouldn't bomb Iraq? And now Obama is bombing Iraq. Cheney must be one happy camper.
Congrats American intel and all that jizz. We should all be totally ashamed this country has let this happen. Not fucking applauding what makes cheney happy. WTF has happened to DU?
zappaman
(20,606 posts)Obviously you know Cheney and he told you he is happy.
Good for him.
I find happiness in different ways.

(13,685 posts)How about you?

How about you?

(53,339 posts)"Here we have tons and tons of American armor and ammo being used against people, as you say..." clearly was directed at the OP, not at zappaman.
It's not a crime to post in the wrong place. What's puzzling is why anyone would deny that.

pinboy3niner
(53,339 posts)But now that you brought it up, we'll be sure to wiki him right away!
I'm sorry, I may be dense. But I'm just not sure I'm getting your point.
RobertEarl
(13,685 posts)You posted three times in a cheney thread without mentioning cheney once.
It isn't easy to ignore cheney, but you manged to do so.

(53,339 posts)What the hell is wrong with you? With us? I am so ashamed right now, I don't know if I can stand it! All we had to do was google his name + wiki!
Pass me a beer, will you? I think I need one right now.

(53,339 posts)Maybe you're not getting the response you want because it's the weekend, a slow Sunday night/Monday morning on DU and people are chilling and decompressing from a heavy news week.
And not everyone may share your view of Cheney as the top outrage of the moment. It's not like anyone is disagreeing with you or posting vehement objections. They just may be enjoying their barbecue and their libations and taking a respite for a little while.
You demand that we comment about Cheney? Okay, I'll say it. Cheney bad. Happy now? Peace.

(13,685 posts)If that sounds familiar, it should. Back in February 2010, Dick Cheney bragged to ABC's Jonathan Karl, using almost the exact same terms:
"I was a big supporter of waterboarding. I was a big supporter of the enhanced interrogation techniques ...."
In that same ABC interview, Cheney explained why he was daring Attorney General Eric Holder to either charge him or, through inaction, essentially bless a torture program conducted by the United States of America:
"The reason I've been outspoken is because there were some things being said, especially after we left office, about prosecuting CIA personnel that had carried out our counterterrorism policy or disbarring lawyers in the Justice Department who had -- had helped us put those policies together, and I was deeply offended by that, and I thought it was important that some senior person in the administration stand up and defend those people who'd done what we asked them to do."
