and a lot of people think Sting is a pompous asshole. But hey, he's got a lot of money so he won, right?

But as for Sting's pomposity - it's not actually uncommon for talented artists to be pompous.

Summers is a very accomplished jazz guitarist with numerous fantastic albums under his belt including several with Robert Fripp.

Copeland is an amazing producer and has done quite a few stellar soundtracks.

Sadly, Sting's last album was rather meh - re-imaginings of his own songs done orchestral muzak style. Though he still made a lot of money from it.
