Almost always after a killing like this the right starts an image campaign about the cop. We'll hear how "devastated" he is by the fact he was forced to kill someone. We'll hear how his family is suffering. We'll hear what a fine policeman he is. We'll hear of his military service, his church, his boy scouts involvement. Why, he's such a great human being he should be allowed to shoot anyone when he thinks it necessary!
I expect it to happen shortly after he is officially named as the shooter.

(39,382 posts)His defenders would do better to plead insanity. What triggered this again? Not walking on the sidewalk but on an empty street?

There may be something about him that will come out that isn't going to play well.

Seriously, that's what some RW sources are already saying.

(25,406 posts)with a history of racism and a known association with white supremacist groups. Possibly with a record containing previous incidents of misconduct on the job. I can't help suspecting that if he really was an upstanding, exemplary family man his name would have already been released.
