Does Ferguson's police chief want to incite violence?

Why would any police chief with half a brain say positive things about Wilson prior to the completion of the investigation? He seems to want to incite more unrest in Ferguson. He expressed "every confidence" in Wilson, describing him as "a gentleman ... a quiet officer."

Did you see in one of his all too numerous talks to the press (I can't remember which one) he was asked if he thought he would be able to keep his job?

suppressing the "animals".

Also, if it bleeds, it leads. Notice the amount of coverage going to "robbery" and "looting" vis a vis reporters asking about the police reports that were released or (in the case of the shooting) not released. Coverage is almost exclusively about scary black people and not about evasive police.

is a thought process somewhere around here:

"You don't let us kill whoever we want without questioning it? You don't want us in riot gear and pointing guns at peaceful protestors? Fine. You don't need any police services at all."

he has to win.
First it was PD against the protesters. Now it is PD against the community and everyone around the country who support them. He wants vindication for his idiocy.

He wants 1) to smear victim 2) justify his officer's action 3) retaliate for power transfer. If Johnson thought he was going to stroll in and make those people look sane, he was not having it.

His pee brain understands that if they can incite violence from the locals, he can then pretend to be 'defending' the town and go out and kill some people. I think what his PD is really asking for is to kill some more of the locals.
