No Grand Jury decision in the Trayvon case...question.

I'm not sure this was answered. I went through some of the threads on this topic and it wasn't really answered. I'm not a Florida native, nor do I know the laws in Florida aside from 'Stand Your Ground'.

However, is the decision by the prosecutor not to go through the Grand Jury a good thing? I read in one of threads the Martin Family lawyer apparently didn't want the Grand Jury involved. I believe another person said the reason was because they don't think the prosecutor has enough for a Man 1 or the prosecutor/family lawyer didn't want to risk Zimmerman walking if he was judged by his peers considering the volatile and public nature of the case.

I wonder if all of this is true. Or what is true and what could be expected without the Grand Jury? How is there no Grand Jury necessary for Man 2 or Murder 2? Or if these things are even real...keep in mind I'm not much of a court TV fan or know all the different titles for crimes.

Anyway if anyone can spread some light on this for me I would be grateful. I saw a lot of posters happy with this decision by the lead Prosector but many seemed more confused more than anything else.

Thanks than anything else.

From what I read, in Florida, a 1st degree murder charge has to be brought before a grand jury.

The Grand Jury that was set to convene on April 10, was previously scheduled by the former prosecutor, not by Corey.

I think this announcement of no grand jury, only tells us that there will be no capital offense charges (First Degree Murder). Other than that the rest of what she intends to do is mere speculation. We'll just have to watch and see how this unfolds. As of now there is no telling what will transpire. Both sides are saying this announcement is good for their side.

It is maddening that Zimmerman hasn't been arrested yet. The wheels of justice are turning real slow in this aspect.
