Colbert vetting Steve King (Ass - IA) for Vice-President.

After a bruising Republican primary season, the foreplay is over. And like all Republican foreplay, it was expensive, vindictive, and ended with something pretty predictable. But now that Mitt Romney has the nomination pretty much nailed down, there's one question everyone's asking: who will Romney pick as his running mate?

...

Well, that's not going to stop me from speculating wildly, which brings me to my new segment, Searching for Mr. Right.

It is crucial that Romney pick a running mate to help him with the groups he's weak with: women, Hispanics, African-Americans, evangelical Christians, and Republicans. Now, one man out there who would shore up Mitt's support with the far right is Iowa Congressman and unblinking Nordic death's head Steve King.
You may remember Congressman King from this historic exchange during my Congressional testimony.

9/24/2010:

REP. STEVE KING, R-IA: In Iowa, we know corn. ... And I thought it was curious that on the farm where you harvest the corn, I was watching you actually unload a crate, rather than load the crate, so it was curious to me, that looked like the corn was going the wrong direction, and I only presume they must have run the film backwards

STEPHEN COLBERT: I was a cornpacker, and I know that term is offensive to some people, because cornpacker is a derogatory term for a gay Iowan.

Was probably one of the funniest things he has ever done. He got that whole place laughing including congresspeople except asshole King (no surprise). He goes around acting like an asshole so it wouldn't surprise me if he did have a corncob stuck up his ass. Might explain why he is constantly evil.

I'm in his district and I've actually heard that suggested.

During the last election, before Palin was picked, I heard one of his supporters tell him that he would be a good conservative balance to McCain's centrism.

libeled the GOP candidate. What is so ironic is that the trial was in the home town of highly decorated veteran Bud Day who was involved in the Swift Boat campaigns of lies about Kerry. I hope that at least we can get rid of King. Vilsack 2012!

We are essentially a purple state. Most times we go blue in the Presidential election.

I love Vilsack and I think the combination of her being very likeable along with the redrawn district will help her win. I met her about two months ago and she is great!
