Racial slur on construction sign along I-94 targets Trayvon Martin ("Trayvon A N*****")

Video @ the URL below.

DETROIT - Elaine Bonner says she can't believe.

"I feel violated by it," she said.

Bonner was driving westbound on Interstate 94 near Addison going into Dearborn at about 1 a.m. when she saw the sign.

An MDOT highway message board was lit up for all to see: "Trayvon A N*****."

1. Sick. I guess these racist feelings have been around us all along, just under the surface.

Seeing them being blatantly put forth makes me physically ill. I don't want to accept that such inhumanity exists, but I must.

...the kind who are severely disconnected and somehow "believe" or "feel" this kind of hatred, and the kind who simply enjoy pushing buttons, seeing people hurt, getting a reaction.

In the second category, race and other factors simply provide a means to an end. They make a racist statement but I really don't think they care one way or another. I don't think the person who spray-painted "Long Live Zimmerman" on that wall literally wants Zimmerman to live a long life. I'm sure he / she felt it would hurt or anger people who viewed it, and that offered the payoff, the "reward." It got reported, so they can see their "work" on the Web, on TV. That brought them pleasure but it could have been anything. It's the same kind of person who felt a sense of glee in the serial use of the word "slut" after Limbaugh's Sandra Fluke remarks. The "copycats" had no stake in that game. They didn't care about Sandra Fluke or women's rights or appropriate behavior. They sensed an open wound and knew that of they walked around saying "slut slut slut slut slut slut slut slut slut slut slut slut slut slut," someone would be hurt or angered.

Yesterday Sandra was a slut, today Trayvon is a N*****, tomorrow someone else will be something else, because some people in this world are so hopelessly fucked up that the only way they can feel any kind of emotion is to prey on the emotions of others.

in an attempt to fuel racial tension to the point that riots occur. I am convinced this is their goal.

It is a crying shame.

The bigots are so bold about it now that at least we know who the enemy is ~
and we are fighting back in many ways.

FOX news and Friends are a known site but IMO, the rest of the media is addressing the issue in a meaningful way.
The Rethugs Primary allowed the world to see that they are the ring leaders of the Hate .

The Rethug Inspired Mob of Hate Spreaders are alive and boldly expressing they feelings.
At least we know the Enemy.

You can hide the thread as well. All you have to do is click the little "X" at the end of the thread title and it's gone. That way you don't have to post "Is it only me" responses, seeking agreement. If you don't like it, great. Why do you feel the need to recruit like-minded people?

I am not here to please you.

I am not here to post stories which meet with your approval or your daily requirement for edification.

I don't report to you, I don't consult with you prior to posting.
