Bride-to-be Alex Lanchester, 23, of Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, received a phone call just months before her wedding claiming that Tucker Blandford, also 23, of Stamford, Connecticut, had died in a car accident.
She then rang the Americans parents to offer her condolences, but they told her he was alive and well - and Miss Lanchester quickly learned he had faked his death to avoid the wedding.

(30,252 posts)Not only did he blow off a woman who could have been his best friend for life, but he did so in one of the cheesiest and most insulting manners possible. As if he thought Alex would never call back and figure it out.
YOU BLEW IT, KID. Enjoy the single life - it's all you will ever know.

She definitely is lucky they didn't actually get married, though maybe she'd be able to take more of his assets if they had.
