Claire McCaskill gives a "vote of confidence" to McCullough... wtf?

"If the perceptions of some in the community... which I'm not sure are grounded... that (the local authorities) are somehow biased"

Yep, Missouri blacks are an isolated, segregated into two Eastern European style ghettos surrounded by vast swathes of all-white constituencies who are Cossack-like in their attitudes towards St Louis and Kansas City. McCaskill couldn't stay in office if she didn't defend the race-baiting McCulloch.

On Edit: The latest news about county prosecutor McCulloch is that he spoke out against the appointment of Ron Johnson as coordinator in Ferguson. The most recent action by McCullough was to get Republicans to turn out in the primaries to unseat the longstanding black county executive by calling him corrupt (I don't know if he was or wasn't.)

Bar Association Calls On Prosecutor To Recuse Himself From Ferguson Investigation

This guy. He is smirking all the time in every picture.

Complain all you want about St. Louis County public officials, but insituating that blacks are compulsoraly "segregated" into "ghettos" is over the top.

I lived near St. Louis Missouri for 18 years and I can tell you that there are black ghettos that surround the White townships. When you think of Missouri, you need to think of 1962--because it has not progressed since that time. Missouri is the SOUTH and it ain't never gonna change.

Like when MLK was taken to task for taking his show on the road to Cicero, Illinois, where white rioters and local police came out in force against him with no local or national support.... CNN's documentary on the 60s described MLK's attempt to bring the Civil Rights movement north as a "historic failure" of efforts toward nonviolence. I recall Ta-Nehisi Coates saying something about attitudes towards race in the area when he pointed out the woman who got arrested along with her lawyer for property damage because she was black and moved into an all-white neighborhood in Cicero Illinois, causing a local crowd of whites to fire-bomb the apartment building she was living in. And that was in the late 50s, early 60s... White person here btw, just saying

And in Memphis, while relations between the races don't seem as bad on the surface, they are stuck in the early 60s as well... with gated communities patrolled by Doberman Pinschers (like the estate of Mr. Burns on the Simpsons) literally on the other side of the tracks from working class black neighborhoods... It's almost quaint if it wasn't sad.
