For the Dems and the GOP - winning is the only important thing. Winning and fund-raising (to match the Kochs).
And policy has been thrown under the bus, no right or wrong comes into play at all.
If our King Solomon acted like our current government, he would have gone ahead and cut that baby in half.
Also seems like even the obviously wrong things to do are just phased in, instead of happening all at once, and we are to praise that as some sort of good thing.

Because of course people, particularly Tea Partiers, believe that they are seeing things through the eyes of right and wrong.

I don't think it's as big a problem on the left though.

You're talking about perception, and that's as particular as the person you're talking to. There's never been a standard right and wrong. We think there can be, and try to make reality fit that mold, but it really doesn't work.
