Suit alleges Ferguson officers used Taser on mentally ill man in 2011, killing him

Ferguson police officers restrained a mentally ill man and repeatedly shot him with a Taser, causing him to die of a heart attack, a federal lawsuit alleges.

The suit was filed Tuesday by Tina Moore, who says officers used excessive force in arresting her husband, Jason Moore, on Sept. 17, 2011.

It names as defendants the Ferguson police department; the city of Ferguson; Police Chief Tom Jackson; Brian Kaminski and Michael White, both Ferguson police officers; Mayor James Knowles III; and City Council members Mark Byrne, Kim Tihen, Dwayne James, Tim Larson, David Conway and Keith Kallstrom.

Tasering people to death happens a lot across the country..maybe this suit will help stop that behavior.

Here is the case of a restrained suspect who was slapped and punched:

Police Chief found guilty of violating his civil rights, in a criminal case.
I assume the OP case is a civil suit, since the SLC DA has refused to prosecute criminal cases involving police brutality and misconduct. Since that is a repeated pattern of his, even when evidence is strong, might it be possible the DOJ could charge him with obstructing justice? I don't know.
