What a wonderful world...
...if no one had to stand up for children that were hungry?
If no one had to stand up against torture by our government?
If no one had to stand up against the police abusing our citizens?
If no one had to stand up against discrimination against others in our society?
If no one had to stand up and question why our young people were dying in foreign countries?
If no one ever questioned the inequality of wealth in our country?
If no one had to stand up and challenge those that would poison our air and water?
If no one had to ask why our jobs were being shipped overseas?
If no one ever had to say a word about the number of people in our prison system?
And if we were all conservatives, we could be silent on all of the above. Because they are part of the system that we must continue to fight to attain justice and equality. It is easy for them to defend the status quo. It is more difficult to fight for a better country and a better world. That is the difference between liberals and conservatives. Somebody has to do it.
