Coppers here are only armed in a very few circumstances, either in very high-risk, critical infrastructure (for example, airport and transport police) or if they're in an ARU (similar to SWAT) and responding to a very high-risk call (for example, hostages taken). In all other circumstances, they rely on pepper spray, taser, extendable baton and self-defence and C/R training. IIRC, British police have fired their weapons only about a dozen times in the last five years, only two of which resulted in deaths. Oh, and all deaths caused by officers trigger an automatic inquiry.

Obviously, a few coppers also have permits to shoot recreationally as a sport

If one thinks that our killing of innocent children and families results in more terrorists, I wonder what the legacy of this sort of bullying, intimidation, and cowardice will be? The nations should send a letter of thanks to that town, 'cause what they did there will keep on giving.

Kid did a great job of fumbling out of the car with his hands in the air to, hopefully, avoid getting shot by the weapons of the jack-booted town thugs, don't you think? Maybe had practice?

Have you had practice "raise your hands and surrender" lessons with your kids?

And these are the trained police thugs, not just the people screwing the kid's parents over at the bank or following any of them at the department store. And black folk pay taxes to insure this abuse.
