ESPN reports on Michael Sam's shower schedule.

http://deadspin.com/espn-reports-on-who-is-and-isnt-showering-with-michael-1626967870/all

This morning's episode of SportsCenter briefly checked in with reporter Josina Anderson, who is on the scene at Rams training camp. She was asked to talk about how Michael Sam is fitting in with his new teammates, and Anderson went ahead and told us about how Sam's showering habits.

Another Rams defensive player told me that "Sam is respecting our space" and that, from his perspective, he seems to think that Michael Sam is kind of waiting to take a shower, as not to make his teammates feel uncomfortable.

Anderson goes on to tell us that she asked defensive tackle Kendall Langford and linebacker Alec Ogletree about Sam's showering schedule, and they told her that they weren't tracking it.

So, there you go. Now we've got the inside scoop on how things are going for Michael Sam and his teammates in the shower. Thanks, SportsCenter.

42, about Jackie Robinson, there is a scene when a friendly teammate encourages Robinson to go a head and shower with the rest of them, because Robinson had been carefully "giving them their 'space' " because he knew how uncomfortable most of them were.

I hope the idiots who feel they need such "space" get over their stupidity soon.

Sam (don't even know who he is). It took several minutes. I wondered if Sam had a huge penis and that might make his teammates uncomfortable. Maybe some other physical variation. Then it hit me. I'll bet Sam is gay. But even that doesn't really make sense, because his teammates must know there are tons of gay athletes already and always have been.

What is Sam's oddity?

Or is the problem a media invention?

Why is it even being reported? Is this really a sports story or TMZ? Sam chooses to wait.... end of story. No need for people to read anything into it.

But there's a larger issue here. For years, people who claim to know NFL culture have said that the locker room wouldn't accept a gay man. But within hours after the report aired, Rams teammate Chris Long shattered that myth with one eight-word tweet:

Dear ESPN, Everyone but you is over it.

This tweet from Chris Long made me smile. Such a great teammate.

ESPN should be ashamed of themselves for calling this "reporting". Seriously.
