If you carefully examine what the GOP believes on tax policy it is that only working people, poor people, the disabled and elderly should pay taxes. That is because ONLY THEY use government services. Businesses should escape because they provide the privilege of creating jobs for the taxpayers. That means business and capital have the right to pay NO taxes for their benevolence.
I know it sounds absurd but all their rhetoric and actions seem to lead to the same conclusion.

Anyone who has studied Poly Sci,has seen this garbage before, difference this time around, people are not paying attention. With the Krotch Brothers carrying on the legacy of their father and dumping millions into front groups, this turd could develop political legs. The Krotch Brothers are plain and simple Birtcher's,perpetual war, zero corporate taxes, zero funding for Health Care or Social Security or Medicare. Scrooge=Koch Bros.
It's all about the money. And if we think the XL Pipe Line is dead, forget it,noticed the necessary infrastructure for this sucker being prepped in the Nebraska Sand Hills last week. With the upgrades being approved in Minnesota for the Embridge Line across the Peat Bogs, you just know the fix is in. Hang on to you shorts kiddies, going to be interesting, just another 1%er rape of our nation. It's still all about the Oil!!!!!!

(10,602 posts)The Council Of Economic Advisors is virtually all corporate sadly. You wonder what would happen if Obama were really like Roosevelt and went against their advise radically. Looks like any president is almost captive to business interests like never before. How we buck this rigged system is a mystery to me. And it is more rigged than it has ever been.

(12,660 posts)So it makes sense that Corporations are the Churches for the Creator of Money.
And the Board, CEOs, and various VPs are Popes, Cardinals, and Bishops for those churches.
Therefore, corporations need to be tax-free, just like any church. And corporate dealings should fall under the First Ammendment ..."Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof"...
If you can stand back and allow a "respected" televangelist to amass great personal wealth, operate a tax-free business, and funnel church money through mafia or terrorist organizations, surely you can stand back and let any big corporation write its own regulations and rules to make profits on the backs of workers or shareholders, regardless of what it may do to the environment or to various economies or cultures...
Profiteering, Hostile Take-overs, Monopolies - those are all just legitimate Church Activities. The greatest Sin is the Sin against Property and the stealing of Wealth from one greater than you.
Such is the gospel of Mammon.
Cavet Emptor, and Greed is Good. Let the dice fall where they may, and don't notice the guy with the big bankroll and the loaded pair in his hand stepping up and telling you to trust him, he's honest and just likes to throw dice, just like everyone else.
