the guy was speechifying again today on Morning Joe. I'm just trying to figure out what he thinks his "niche" is in the Republican Party. He is going after his party for being so clueless but he sure isn't going to have much appeal to Dems. And his personal life has some real liabilities and it's not just the dead intern...I think his last ex-wife has some goods on him...just sayin'...

(63,912 posts)He's some sort of senior political analyst with Meet the Press, now that Chuck Todd has been promoted. So my guess is that he's making yet MORE big bucks doing TV.
So I am rethinking my original assumption. I don't think he'd sign on for the promotion and then resign and run for office. He's making too much money...

(1,307 posts)I think he's trying to remake his image a bit which makes me wonder... 2016 seems too early for him but I wouldn't count him out in the future. And I hope not, I want to watch him cook!
I'm watching their Bob McDonnell segment and Joe and Mika start it off with Very Serious voices and say "it's sad" as though they're talking about a shooting spree.

(30,058 posts)The GOP is their own worst enemy, they are holding the anti-abortion issue over the heads of many who refuse to look at any other issue the GOP stands, the Congress has been held hostage to the likes of Cruz forcing a shutdown and it just does not work. The TP is a radical bunch. Congress has low ratings, why, because of the do-nothing congress dragging the nation down.
For a change Joe is stating facts and talking reality, someone needs to stand up, he is much better off financially where he is.

(4,220 posts)So many people are aware of his "intern" issue that it will come right up to the top the second he does anything. Once he moves away from his circle of yes men and women on MJ, he will finally have to answer the questions. And then maybe Kos will be allowed back on MSNBC!
Can't wait!!!

(37,326 posts)he's getting so much "free advertizing" there and Mika helps him look bipartisan. He also is always sneaking in little comments like he agrees with Paul Ryan or Bill Kristol or Rand Paul. Mika always says he's not going to run for president anytime a guest says he should run. I think she's in love with him and I think he takes advantage of her, but he'll leave the show anyway. I also don't think he's NEARLY conservative enough to WIN any election, but I think he'll still try.
CTyankee
(63,912 posts)Mika might not take to it too well...
Mika has a fit every time a guest on their show tells Joe he should run for president. "He's not running! He's staying here! (I LOVE him!)"
Major Hogwash
(17,656 posts)Joe always hands out little tidbits giving praise to Rand Paul or Karl Rove all of the time.
He may run for Senator in Florida in the next few years.
He's definitely conservative enough for the Republicans down there.
jenmito
(37,326 posts)ya think he'd be able to win a senate seat in FL? I'D think he'd try for congressman first.
Major Hogwash
(17,656 posts)He has his sights set on bigger accomplishments these days.
He may not be able to win a statewide campaign to become a Senator, but I think he may try, just the same.
Joe is a huge egomaniac who has been denying that he is going to run for the office of President for at least 3 years now.
Which, to me, means that he thinks he could run for that office, and actually become the GOP party's presidential candidate.
So, by denying that he is running to become the next President, what he is really doing is planting the message in all of the Republicans' heads in Florida that he thinks he is good enough to actually be the President.
That way, when Joe does make an announcement to run for the Senate later on, more people will accept that concept easier, after having been told for years that he isn't running for the White House, leaving them wondering why he had to deny that rumor to begin with.

If he ever loses his big pay job, and they are summarily cut off, they may reconsider at that point.
