And the latest example of American patriotism
Gazprombank GPB (OJSC), a Russian bank targeted with sanctions by President Obama over the Ukraine crisis, has hired two former U.S. senators to lobby against those sanctions, according to a new disclosure filed with the Senate.
Gazprombank is controlled by Russias state-owned energy company Gazprom, the countrys largest gas producer; it supplies about a third of Europes natural gas.
In a filing submitted Friday and effective that day, former Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott, R-Miss., and former Senator John Breaux, D-La., are listed as the main lobbyists under the Gazprombank account for the firm Squire Patton Boggs, lobbying on banking laws and regulations including applicable sanctions.
Lotts name is especially outrageous given the number of times the GOP has accused Obama of being a traitor.

(6,932 posts)Whore is a term highly offensive to and derogatory towards women.

(11,519 posts)From vocabulary.com:
In the original sense, a whore is a prostitute: someone who has sex for money. The word has since broadened to mean anyone who is money-hungry.
Whores traditionally whored their bodies out for money. But today a whore can be a person that compromises himself in any kind of way for monetary gain. It's also a nasty thing to call someone (especially a woman) who has a lot of sex and is often used as a vulgar insult similar to bitch. It's not really an appropriate word to call someone, including actual prostitutes.
I'd say Trent Lott fits that description.

(23,946 posts)country from lobbying against the same sanctions, lobbying in America, and hire former American government officials and politicians to help them?
Exceptional.
Who made the rules of this silly game anyway?
Can Iran hire these guys for the same purpose?

Can China?

(2,116 posts)So is likely lobbying against them.
Palestine because many here might actually believe that it should not be able to lobby and others who would feel strongly it should be able to. It is a fulcrum upon which we can weigh what is a good idea.
Anyway, I think that a simple act of Congress (sanctions) should not be confused with freedom of expression (lobbying).
