Even Dude, my beagle/basset mix. He got hold of my wife's iPhone the other day, and somehow pushed the camera button. The result is below:
I added it to his blog just now. What a guy!

Sorry for the shamelessly personal post in GD, but Dude's the Dude, after all.

After a lifetime of labs, we got a little Havanese.
Kisses all day long. Least my toes are clean!

(146,317 posts)He gets so excited when he sees them, but approaches them very carefully, tail going a mile a minute. Then he stops near them and lets them do whatever they want to. Pull his ears, pound on him, whatever. He's in heaven.
Eventually, he gives every kid a lick. One little two-year-old loudly said, "Doggie kissed me!" Her parents laughed out loud.
He's the most inoffensive dog I've ever met around kids. We adopted him from a shelter, but his kid-friendliness tells me that his previous home had small children in it.
Our other dog, a laboratory rescue beagle from the Beagle Freedom Project, has taken his cues from Dude, and is also very good around children. Kids love them both, it seems, and we always get met by neighborhood children when we walk the two of them.

(24,370 posts)My Boston loved kids too. He had this really funny sort of yodel he would do when he was happy to see you. I saw him yodeling across the street to a little girl neighbor, basically telling her to come over and play!
I had a house in Dearborn that had a fenced back yard so I could leave him out as long as he wanted. My neighbor had grand kids that got to know him and knew he did a great "Dead Dog" trick. Just point your finger and say "Bang" and he would fall over!
One day sitting watching TV and I keep hearing the kids saying "Bang, BB, Bang". Over and over but separated by a few long seconds each time. I look out the back window and there is my dog on his side of the fence and the kids on theirs.....
SHOOTING MY DOG WITH A POP GUN!!!
BB would fall over dead right in cue each time, lay there for about 5 or 6 seconds then get up, stubby little Boston tail wagging like crazy til they shot him again!
Most gregarious dog I ever knew and just simply loved everyone.
