Drop the cliches and be honest.

That sounds ill-advised. In fact is Joe so sure we haven't beaten ISIS in the race to hell?
I have no desire to follow anyone to the gates of hell.
Maybe a bit less hyperbole and testosterone would be in order.

(19,326 posts)What did you expect him to say? Of course he denies it.
I don't recognize the "azcentral" link as a website that is known for accurate debunking either.
You'll need to do better than that to desuade me of my opinion on this.
Plus, you forgot to mention the Saudis and Prince Bandar altogether (??)

(32,017 posts)Also the original group that put the photo on the internet has not been able to come up with any evidence it is real. It certainly doesn't matter to me whether you think it is real or not. But almost everything about that situation has been proven to be faked, but many don't mind faked things as long as they support their position.

(19,326 posts)OK, let's give McCain a pass. What about the Saudis, our "good allies"?
How Saudi Arabia helped Isis take over the north of the country
How far is Saudi Arabia complicit in the Isis takeover of much of northern Iraq, and is it stoking an escalating Sunni-Shia conflict across the Islamic world? Some time before 9/11, Prince Bandar bin Sultan, once the powerful Saudi ambassador in Washington and head of Saudi intelligence until a few months ago, had a revealing and ominous conversation with the head of the British Secret Intelligence Service, MI6, Sir Richard Dearlove. Prince Bandar told him: "The time is not far off in the Middle East, Richard, when it will be literally 'God help the Shia'. More than a billion Sunnis have simply had enough of them."
The fatal moment predicted by Prince Bandar may now have come for many Shia, with Saudi Arabia playing an important role in bringing it about by supporting the anti-Shia jihad in Iraq and Syria.

(35,015 posts)At the very least, ISIS is the result of oppression, at the very worst it's a total construct to keep us afraid....something just doesn't ring true about how they appeared out of nowhere and are now suddenly everywhere and the most powerful evil force on earth.
And for Joe Biden to say this, makes me wonder all the more.

(84,711 posts)Rumfeld Bombed? What about the Blackwater Nuts who raped and pillaged and murdered.
What about the Saddam Mockery and humiliation setting an example to the Arab World about how we treat Rulers of Sovereign Countries we prop up when they suit us and then humiliate and defile when we take them down. Gadaffi's brutal death where he was raped with the gruesome details sent home here to American readers.
Millions of families maimed displaced, fleeing their countries and businesses living in tents with little and moving from one war torn country to another trying to find peace. They are the 99% while the wealthy left with money and immigrated to places of comfort. The poor are left live with bomb waste, depleted uranium, polluted water and no electricity. Their children will suffer the rest of their lives.
This is what we have done with Nato's Help and Alone. And the Torture and Humiliation of innocents in Abu Graib being leashed like dogs and hung up naked and humiliate with their Koran/Bible defiled listening to the torture/waterboarding and humiliation of their fellow inmates.
Blackwater's atrocities alone are documented but we don't know the extent to what young soldiers under the stress of what they were put into were driven to do to these people they invaded from Iraq to Afghanistan to the places the troops go into that we don't even know about these days and the death on the hands of our Drone Warriers who"Take Them Out" from a screening room here in the USA or some other country removed from battle where the people Droned are called "Bug Splat."
Joe Biden is ramping War.....he's little different from Cheney/Rumsfeld if this is what's coming out of his mouth.
Those journalists deaths are BLOW BACK! Tragic and Dreadful...there are millions who have died in these invasions that are just "collateral damage." He ignores those lives in his callous comment.

(5,158 posts)I certainly hope this is the case here. We don't need to follow ISIS, or anyone, to the "gates of hell". Talk like this, and the actions behind it, is what led to this mess in the first place. We don't need to go there again.

(28,394 posts)I liked his passion today. I thought the president sounded so flat and lackluster today in Estonia (I think)...... and I liked Joe's "give-em-hell" bravado. Maybe he is gearing up for a run and trying out some stump lines.
Or maybe he is trying to sound tough to counter all the right wing crap about Obama being "weak". Only he knows for sure.
I know... the president is exhausted. And he sounds and looks it.
