WTF is wrong? I 'get' it, but it's dumb.

Jon Stewart: Dems So Desperate to Win, They’re Jumping Ship from Obama
by Josh Feldman | 11:28 pm, September 4th, 2014 video 2

Jon Stewart opened Thursday night’s Daily Show looking at how desperate Senate Democrats are and how low they’re willing to sink to win their midterm election races.

For instance, Democrats are “throwing the president shade,” as Stewart put it, in campaign ads. And in some cases, they don’t even want to appear publicly with him.

But it’s the negative campaign ads against opponents where Democrats appear to be most desperate. Stewart laughed at ads by two Senate Democrats accusing their Republican opponents of 1) helping spread ebola, and 2) letting off sex offenders (this one Stewart said was an obvious, blatant lie).

No matter what anyone thinks of Obama, this strategy is wrong and self-defeating. And probably very dumb.

Voter turnout on the Democratic side is the single path to success in 2014. And that means, in large part, getting out the African American vote. Throwing the president shade is not going to sit all that well with that demographic.

Why are we so self-destructive?
