My neighbor, a semi-retired cop, is a fox news watching idiot.

In the middle of a conversation, he'll just switch gears and start repeating the nonsense he just saw on fox news.
I had to walk away from him last night it got so ridiculous.
If he wasn't someone that could make my life a living hell, I'd have gone with my usual tactic of harsh ridicule and derisive laughter.
Instead I just smiled as sarcastically as I could, shook my head and walked away.

even try anymore. He knows how I feel. I do not think he would make my life a living hell but arguing is not worth it anymore. He gets his news filtered through the Catholic church. uga uga.

2. I did the same with my sister-in-law when we visited her out West.

Dang, spittle even started flying when she started talking about 'all the lazy people not wanting to work.' She was going on and on about how fast food restaurants are paying $17 an hour and can't find workers!!! Oh, yeah, where? Ahhhh -- over in the N Dakota shale oil fields that are booming at the moment.

Well, SIL, the reason they can't get workers is that $17 an hour is not enough money in ND to pay the $3000 a month rent it costs to live there! Why is rent so high? Because the place is crawling with oil field workers making $100,000 per year as long as the shale lasts.

None of that sank in, though.

Maybe straight out tell him that if you wanted to hear the Fox News talking points you'd save him the effort and just watch it yourself while poking your eyes out with a fork.

He is still employed by the police dept. but doesn't have to actually do anything except get paid.
I think he can only issue citations, not actual tickets.

So I imagine he hates people who live off the taxpayer, too, but doesn't see himself in that group.

Shooting unarmed people, having sex with the dispatchers and other "civilian" department employees, beating the shit out of people on the job especially women and minorities and writing tickets for phony violations is all in a days work for most police officers.
