Republicans Had GPS Secretly Placed On Democratic Assemblyman’s Car

They were trying to prove that he didn’t live in the Long Island district he represents.

In what many say is an alarming first, a private eye hired by Assembly Republicans placed a GPS device on a Long Island assemblyman’s car for two months in an unsuccessful effort to prove the pol didn’t live in his district.

According to court transcripts, investigator Adam Rosenblatt said he was hired in March by attorney James Walsh, repping the Assembly Republican Campaign Committee, to find out where Assemblyman Edward Hennessey (D-Suffolk) actually lives. Walsh that same month was paid $3,000 by the GOP campaign committee.

Rosenblatt testified about his actions at a hearing last month in which Republicans unsuccessfully sought to bounce Hennessey, who is seeking reelection, from the race.

are one of the first steps in a lot of races. I had a friend bounced from a Suffolk race because as an attorney, she spent one of the prior 7 years living in pennsylvania while she worked on a case. She never changed her residency, but the appellate judges in NY were mostly Republicans who upheld the challenge to her residency.

Some states make it too easy for carpetbaggers, NY makes it too easy for folks looking to bounce you from the race to accuse you of not living where you do.

who here believes the Govt. won't use their powers for political purposes like stifling dissent from the underclass or interfering in investigations of corruption?

Only fools think this behavior is an exception.

up to things like blackmailing judges, representatives, and even leaders of other nations

these surveillance systems are clearly NOT for intelligence gathering, or we wouldn't be so surprised when things happen around the globe as we routinely appear to be

they are there to intimidate and blackmail and control

I don't like being subject to it and I don't like being forced to pay for it and I don't like being lied to about it by the people we have paid to do it.

This was done for the "Assembly Republican Campaign Committee" by a lawyer, who hired a PI, that the committee hired. While some of the members of this committee maybe members of the government the committee isn't part of the government.

In New York or anywhere. These arent leaflets and fliers left on a windshield.

Cant wait for the Tea Party Brown Shirts to start tracking actual voters.
