(11,519 posts)As soon as I saw the headline I KNEW the story would include the words "politically motivated".
BlueCaliDem
(15,438 posts)Everything they do is politically motivated so naturally they believe everyone not of their ilk acts only because they're politically motivated.
I remember during G.W. Bush's residency, Republicans used to whine and wail 24/7 that Democrats only act because they're "playing politics", and they got away with that lie because MSM-propaganda allowed them to, unchallenged.
PatSeg
(47,517 posts)They accuse Democrats of things that THEY do all the time. Sometimes I'd shake my head trying to figure out what they are talking about. Then I realize they are saying what they would do and they probably believe that the Dems are like them. I've noticed that people who lie, cheat, and steal, just assume that everyone else does too.

(5,524 posts)Listen carefully to all their accusations and you'll know exactly what they are up to.
PatSeg
(47,517 posts)I've seen people do this with their spouses or parents with their children, sometimes unaware of what they are doing.
Of course with republicans, it is not always an unconscious reaction, sometimes it is a political tactic.

1StrongBlackMan
(31,849 posts)denial of a motion to dismiss is, generally, a bad omen for defendants ... but then again, most defendants are not ideologically motivated and will pause to listen to the court.
Gothmog
(145,345 posts)First, Kirkland & Ellis is representing Sherrod. That is a good firm to do a pro bono case.
Second, the plaintiffs just took the depo of that idiot Christian Adams. Adams is counsel to True the Vote and is a true idiot who was illegally hired by the bushies in the DOJ. Adams is truly an idiot who who could never get hired by the DOJ without the law being broken. Adams is mad at Sherrod for going after Brietbart's widow and his anger is amusing. If depos are being taken, then the case is headed to trial.
I hope that Sherrod ends up owning brietbart.com and that we can bid for the pieces at auciton
1StrongBlackMan
(31,849 posts)Yep ... The arrogance of the ideological ... "I'm gonna fight this cuz I'm right!" ... never-mind what the law says.
Gothmog
(145,345 posts)Normally a case only goes to trial when one side or the other has misjudged the value of the case. Here the arrogance of the right prevents them from looking at the facts. The same is true in the Michael Mann vs. National Review case. The National Review should have settled that case a long time ago and not risk a trial

(12,041 posts)Even if an organization is ideologically opposed to taxes they still have to pay them, and enforcing the same laws on Breitbart that are enforced on ordinary people is not political targeting.

(1,713 posts)Once the floodgates open, what person would expect a Repub to close them?
E.g. Clinton's Glass-Steagal repeal mistake led directly to the twin bubbles of the Bush era. Remember Bush pushing (vastly overpriced) mortgages on everyone with his "Ownership Society"? As a direct result of that, not only is homeownership at generational lows (due to foreclosures by the millions), but the middle class lost a third of its wealth in the process.
We still haven't recovered from that one, and ten years from now the first part of this sentence will probably still be true.

(7,634 posts)There is likely never going to be another R in the wh for a long time. If hillary or whomever is the dem candidate wins and does two terms it will be 2024. By then the ddmographic shift will already be on its way to have latinos be the biggest voting block. Wasps will be in the minority. If the gop does not win the wh in 2016 and get a chance to stack the supreme court they are cooked.
Second, there is no evidence its a politically motivated investigation. Its the irs job to investigate suspicious activity.

(387 posts)Here's what those Teabagging nitwits don't get. Outside of them, Breitbart, WND, etc are absolute jokes. No one takes them seriously. In fact, we Libs love them because those sites are SO bat Boy stupid that it becomes the face of the Right and America has no patience for that sheer level of ignorance and certainly will have even less patience in the long haul.
If it were a real Right Wing site, etc that was targeted (if there is such a thing) I could wonder if it was politically motivated because, well, sadly, that's just what our Government does. But ... Breitbart? HAHAHA!

(9,122 posts)As anyone who has paid the slightest attention to what outfits the IRS has been auditing, both right-wing and left-wing outfits have been auditing. The wing-nutz, as usual, are suffering from delusions of persecution.
I am of the opinion that Breitbart's right-wing hatred of "big government" has probably led to some very questionable book-keeping. I hope the IRS catches Breitbart's dodges and busts Breitbart and its allies for them.

(19,537 posts)... Perhaps he's still channeling Breitbart from Breitbart's last interview that he had with him a couple of weeks before he died...
It was spooky hearing how he died shortly after I saw that interview... And Uygur also interviewed Rodney King shortly before he died about the same time frame too.
