Shocking photoshop of NFL CoverGirl model with black eye is sweeping across Twitter

A new hashtag has taken over Twitter: #GoodellMustGo.

Saturday, it was accompanied by an image from CoverGirls’ NFL makeup line — which has the slogan, “Get Your Game Face On!” — but was photoshopped to look like the woman had a black eye.

:large

The photo has taken off and is being shared all over the Internet. People are tweeting it and the hashtag’s page is full of people calling for embattled NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to be fired.

snip

Additionally, Ultraviolet, a women’s advocacy organization, will fly planes with #GoodellMustGo banners over several NFL stadiums on Sunday, according to Bloomberg. Planes are scheduled to fly above stadiums in New York, Cleveland, San Francisco and Indianapolis.

It is an all American sport always has been.

Yet there has been a lot of issues with abuse and cover ups in sports. That is not a sport but a crime.

We can have the sport with out the violence against women. Yes we can have both.

This picture of Janay, breaks my heart. Yes, I know she is defending him. Yet as a woman who has known violence, it is telling. I have to say to you that is the face of a battered woman, her face is down turned, her eyes cast down and her shoulders appear to be slumped. Her expression, wow that is a hard one to describe, I would say defeated. To me, her face shows her pain and subjugation.

I can't imagine someone I loved and looked up to treating me that way--and everyone seeing it on video. She looks devastated, humiliated and embarrassed.

It is this horror and embarrassment that keep the victims quiet and enable the abuser. The victims often blame themselves, like Janay did, actually apologizing for "her role" in the attack at that press conference.

I don't think there are very many men who are LITERATE in the facial expressions of women who are scared to DEATH of the man she sleeps with, who could easily break her in half.

That face probably says NOTHING to a scarily large proportion of men; men in the general population, but also HERE.

Because they don't see it, too many refuse to listen to us because our reality is something they can't fathom.

It's obvious they don't see her face for what it is and what it means, they have never been there. The comments here are another fist raised back and slamming into our faces. It's like they are saying, honey you never felt that first punch, here is another to your gut. Oh and she is in it for the money! She could leave if she really wanted too! Everyone has a choice. Well she was stupid enough to marry him. SunSeeker told me she was 16 when she met him. The mind control is in full force. He owns her.

My gut, it tells me that woman is abused physically mentally verbally. That picture tells me she has lost hope.

Ray Rice pulled his fist back and cold cocked his fiance. She smashed her head against the rail and blacked out. Her compassionate fiance dragged her out of the elevator and dropped her on her face. Did you see the video, I did and it hurt like hell to watch.

So you know what I think is dumb? The NFL and Goodell hushed it up. They enabled a man that battered his fiance and they did it for money. It was not only dumb, it was a blatant attempt to hush up a criminal act. That was assault.

I am really saddened by how many here on DU downplay what happened to Janay.

Janay was out cold, which means at a minimum she suffered some sort of head injury. People die from these type of punches all the time, mostly from their head hitting an object or the floor when they fall unconscious.

Rice showed absolutely no concern for her--didn't even checked her pulse. He just dragged her out of the elevator like a sack of garbage. He KICKED her legs out of the elevator doors, not wanting to be bothered to bend down to move them.

Oh, and just so I don't get alerted on again (like happened in another thread), by someone who claims Ray Rice didn't kick Janay, here's the video. He kicks her right leg with his left foot at 0.13, the way you would kick a piece of trash out of the way. My husband was the one who actually noticed that and pointed it out to me. He was struck by what disdain Rice showed for his fiancee and little Rayven's mother.

He carried her out like a piece of meat and dropped her on her face. Yes, he did kick her legs out of the way.

Also in the elevator, when she fell to the floor, looks like he did an oh shit jump. Like oh shit, I just screwed up again. Frick him and his defenders.

I know she is staying and I know she is defending him, yet I fear for her and Rayven. Defending him does not make him innocent nor does it make her less battered. Did you see the pictures I posted of the press conference. They were telling.

Thnk you for your response SunSeeker. Sorry about the alert, I get a lot of them too for telling the truth!

NO ONE MADE A MOVE TO HELP HER.

Until much later in the vid, where someone who was much smaller than all the others, went to her.

Fucking hell, that person propped her up, and I realized I'd seen that kind of pose before. ....it was a pose I've seen in pictures ......

PICTURES OF MALE SOLDIERS ON THE BATTLEFIELD. But that's different . They're heroes. THEIR SUFFERING MATTERS. Guys identify with it, and so, they can FEEL it.

But women? Women are too much unlike them. They can't relate, so too many don't even expend the energy to TRY.

The battlefield that women have to LIVE IN...without weapons, protective armor, battle training....well, don't shed a tear for them, dude-bros, it's not the same. No medals and 21 gun salutes.

The War on Women in America is Alive and Well

The war on women in America is real. It’s insidious. It’s commanders are men who are highly regarded due to political positions or celebrities. Women who are used and abused are often minimized. Their credibility is attacked as if the abuse makes them less believable. Crimes against women involving rape, sexual molestation, and domestic violence are minimized, suggesting that they somehow deserve the violence inflicted upon them. The insidious part of this war is that some of the warriors promoting this violence against women, are men like Todd Palin, who is repeatedly hailed as a champion of family values.

They are men like the Secret Service agents in Colombia. They are men like O.J. Simpson and Scott Peterson. They are politicians like Senator Mendez. They are members of the military fighting next to women who are risking their lives to fight the ” enemy.” Male soldiers frequently abuse and rape the very women who are fighting for America. Fox News has now hired Herman Cain as a commentator. Cain is best known for his unfaithfulness to his wife, and the sexual harassment of multiple women. What does it say about our country when the most popular “news” show in the country, hires a “commentator” who is best known for his history of sexual harassment.

snip

7. For Super Bowl 2010 an estimated 10,000 prostitutes were brought into Miami and slept with 25-60 men each day.

8. 207,754 women are raped or sexually assaulted every year. That means that every two minutes a woman in America is being assaulted or raped.

9. Estimates are that between 600,000 to 6 million women are the victims of domestic violence every year.

Read more here, though I know you won't. You think this is a joke!

Condoleezza Rice for NFL commissioner?
by Alicia Maule
09/13/14

This was a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad week for NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. In light of the scandals plaguing the league, few people at this point would likely call his position a “dream job.” Just so happens, former secretary of state Condoleezza Rice has long been on the record saying that very thing.

Now, many — from Hollywood actor Rob Lowe to Arizona Sen. John McCain — are looking at Rice to rescue the main organization behind America’s beloved pastime. It is widely known that the former top official for the George W. Bush administration has a deep affinity for football and that she described serving as NFL commissioner as a dream job.

”That’s absolutely right,” she told Mike Freeman of The New York TImes in a 2002 interview, ”though not immediately and not before Paul Tagliabue is ready to step down.”

“Condoleezza Rice would be a good person for (Goodell) to call and have a discussion with him. I think she can help him,” Arizona Sen. John McCain told TMZ.
