A Curiously amusing NSA redacted files story...they lost the orginals

mods this story is really about the NSA and their constant lying under court orders.

NSA says it has lost its non-redacted UFO files

UFO and government secrecy researcher John Greenewald has been petitioning to get the National Security Agency (NSA) UFO files that were released in the 90s further declassified. When they were released, after a legal battle, much of the information was redacted. There are large swaths of information that have been blacked out or covered with white out. However, the NSA recently told Greenewald they could not find even one original of the hundreds of pages UFO files.

Snip

When the Yeates affidavit was released, it was heavily redacted. UFO researcher Stanton Friedman shows a page from the document to demonstrate government UFO secrecy, and as he says, this goes over well on television where a simple image can be very effective when making a point.

This time they use white out

As you can see from the image above, there is very little information available in the COMINT UFO documents. Although a bit more information has been unredacted from the Yeates affidavit, the unredacted COMINT reports are the most important information for UFO researchers.

Greenewald writes, “In essence, the ‘originals’ were destroyed or lost when they blacked out the records many years ago — and now in 2014 — they are missing and can not be further reviewed for declassification and release. The history, whatever it may be, is lost forever.”

I understand why a lot of the stuff would be blacked out, and the need to know basis and blah blah. But it seems incredibly foolhardy that there are no records at all since they said it was so important that you had to have uber top secret clearance to read it.

Here we have a document that was or is so important to the NSA that they fought tooth and nail against FOIA judicial requests for it and then redacted 70% of it but now can't find it and only have the redacted document.....

Forget the UFO part and even the NSA's chief making his command room look like the star trek enterprise of it for a second

and think about what this implies on credibility of the NSA and their record keeping incompetence. if you buy that story. and their non compliance with our checks and balances of oversight to our system of government..

Anyway
As far as the documents and the UFO side of the story goes These files that are allegedly, (some after 50 years) detail UFO sightings by pilots.

I enjoyed the Scully facepalm even though she was never ahead of the curve

If you can believe Snowden/Greenwald then the NSA is like Santa Claus. The know if you've been bad or good and all the "meta" (ha ha) phone call data and on an on into the knight. The great Orwellian spy machine that only spys on foreign countries.
The great Orwellian spy machine that knew so little about ISIS that the president referred to them as the JV team.
The NSA has your phone "meta" (ha ha) data but they don't know ISISs locations.
The NSA has easy access to you're financial translations but haven't a clue as to how ISIS is financed.
They can GPS your cellphone location, take a picture of your own license plate from 200 miles up (I have seen these things with my very own eyes) but they can't figure out who sold ISIS a fleet of Toyotas let alone who paid for them.

I can't help but get the fealing that 'somebody' is fibbing here. Fibbing so good that I couldn't come up with a conspiracy theory if I tried.

Well other than that John Boehner does look a heck of a lot like the 'Smoking Man'.

that during the Cuban missile crisis we had better pictures that proved the Russians did something than we do now with them in the Ukraine

The USAF has been launching very large military satellites almost twice a month from Vandenberg for the last 10 years

The CIA just gave scientists a space based telescope they used for earth viewing that's almost as good or better than Hubble but is now considered too primitive for their needs.

yet the NSA can't find ......

Yeah he does look like the smoking crying man.

If they were destroyed there should be a record of that. Who held them last? There should be a record of that.

Knowledge, for instance.

Sharing it with them who pay for it, the US taxpayers, for another.
