LOS GATOS, Calif. (AP) — Officials in Northern California are accusing a nudist resort of stealing water during the state's historic drought.

The San Jose Mercury News ( http://bit.ly/1xRDM6S ) reports that rangers with the Midpeninsula Open Space District descended on Lupin Lodge near Los Gatos on Thursday, saying the clothing-optional resort was illegally taking water from a nearby upstream waterfall.

The resort's owners say they are entitled to use the waterfall, which they need to keep their water tank full in case of a fire and to top off their pool for both skinny-dipping and as a backup water source for a fire.

5. I've been there many times. It is not a big place.

Most likely they got water from the falls over the years and now it is critical that they should no longer do it.
The pool will probably have to be drained. It is a small pool. Lupin is home to old hippie types who live in tents. Deer roam the grounds which are on a mountain side. It is not your well furnished resort but a rustic camp where students take a year or two off to work in the kitchen or do maintenance.
