Whatever. Personally, I don't consider the impetus toward self-determination to be a bad thing. nt scarletwoman Sep 2014 #4

I heard some political analyst discussing the probable outcome of the vote yesterday on NPR, and he said that the rural areas and outlying islands were more conservative and very much trending toward voting 'no' - so Orkney's vote is no surprise, I guess.

Even though it's not my fight, and there are absolutely no consequences to me personally in how this vote comes out, I still find myself having a wholly emotional, totally non-rational desire to see the 'yes' votes win out.

Ah well, no matter...

It can be ruinous to the Scottish economy and help the Conservatives rule the UK for decades to come.

Will likely lose by 8-10%.

The Bribes and Threats of London seem to be doing their work.

He doesn't think that separation is good for Scotland. I respect him a lot, so I have mixed feelings about yes.
