still, I wonder what a breakdown of all states would show on this.

strictly regarding corporal punishment of children, over the last few days, I've come to the conclusion that many people who were hit as children have a deep vested interest in believing that they were hit out of love. Most people love their parents and don't want to have to deal with the internal conflict.

or are they conservatives because part of their upbringing involved violence?

Was the question posed as should parents be able to use corporal punishment or was the extent and horror of what Peterson did detailed and known to those polled and excepted.

to Mississippi from '07-'09. We haven't had corporal punishment in schools up here for 25 or 30 years. Down there? Yep, still paddling the kids at school. I couldn't believe it. I mean no offense, but I was so happy to come back north. I never felt at home there, for a variety of reasons.

Has to be a coin flip since this easily within the margin of error.

I try to be encouarged by the 49% who don't. And at least america as a whole is 60:40 against, which means outside the south it's got to be more like 2:1 against.

Some solace in that.

And, I'd bet that past percentage would be much higher in favor.

More solace in that.

there were those who said they saw no problem with the punishment, then someone posted pictures and everyone said THEN said "No, not acceptable."
