As Paul Krugman stated, independence would have been a "recipe for disaster". ("I find it mind-boggling that Scotland would consider going down this path&quot . Mail delivery would have cost more as the cost of postal delivery to far-flung Highland areas would no longer be subsidized by customers in England. The access that Scots currently enjoy to high-quality hospitals in England would have been jeopardized. And there was no guarantee that an independent Scotland would have been admitted into the EU.

Congratulations to the voters in Scotland for doing the right thing!

On the downside it will stop any boom in the flag manufacturing industry.
