On Scotland, from my colleague the political operative:

He is the statewide organizer for me and my colleagues at other similar agencies throughout California. This is the same guy who was going to head up Jon Huntsman's campaign in Nevada until the Huntsman campaign imploded.

a record number of GOP consultants and activists were sent over to help with the Scotland NO vote which has probably distracted them from the domestic election

The good news is, based on this, he is predicting a Dem sweep. The bad news is, since he went to uni in England, he was gloating all night.

independence, since they favor some of the secessionist movements here. I can certainly see where the Karl ROve types would have been promoting a "no" vote.
