I think the reason the prosecutor is giving Martin's girlfriends call so much credibility and weight

is because it ended about a minute before Martin's death and no more than two minutes max. Meaning, what she said about her being on the line with Martin at the time he and Zimmerman came face to face, correlates 100% with the time line, which was extremely tight. Zimmerman's Dad said Martin approached his son's SUV and asked if he had a problem even though in the 911 call Zimmerman says Martin passes him by and starts to run. This would mean Martin would have to pass Zimmerman begin to run and then have a complete change of heart and head BACK to the truck while talking to his girlfriend and wait for Zimmerman to roll down his window then hide out for 10 or 15 seconds before being killed. Also, it would seem very odd for someone to continue talking to their girlfriend when pursuing someone aggressively. A violent person most likely would not continue chatting away walking toward a fight, however they probably would continue chatting away if they were worried about being followed because the call might give them comfort.

That phone call with his girlfriend and its end time so close to Martin's death cause Zimmerman's story to police to fall completely apart. There just isn't enough time for all the stuff Zimmerman says happens to happen much less having Martin on the phone chatting with his girlfriend the whole time.

Zimmerman never should have talked to police that night. His account just doesn't jive with the girlfriend's call and time of death. I guarantee you Corey timed everything out to the second and just could not get Zimmerman's story to work. With each exposed lie Zimmerman screwed himself, which is why you NEVER talk to police until you have a lawyer with you.

Glad Zimmerman didn't follow rule. Also glad he left cell phone on too.

Ironic that folks in Gungeon were talking about importance of turning cell phone off before shooting an unarmed personal just a few weeks before this incident.

Indeed. Apparently Zimmerman's Judge father either neglected to inform him of this basic fact, or Zimmerman felt that he was above the law because his father was a former judge.

I wonder which it could be?

I think you are right that Zimmerman just thought his Dad would clean things up for him which is why Zimmerman said he thought everything would blow over. He was use to getting away with anything he did.

According to one website I looked at, magistrates in the state of Virginia cannot give legal advice as they have no training in the law.

The father wasn't there so he's just balbbering thrid party drivel.

I don't see why the news keeps quoting him.
His words are only worth something if he adds incriminating information.
and then the judge will throw it out for being third party.... so...

If he says yes it makes the son look bad because this story make no sense to the time line. If he says no, I misunderstood my son, then it just makes him and Zimmerman look like liars. The Dad has not been doing his son any favors. Chances are his son did tell him these things and because he is the Dad he just believed his son and decided to spout off not realizing his son was probably lying to him.

And interrogate the hell out of him. Maybe they can get the judge for perjury. At the least make the judge a pariah in the community so that everyone avoids him like the plague.

It's true, because they say it's true. Nobody questions them because of who they are, based on the positions they hold in the community. That's why this needed national attention. To get it out of the small town cesspool.

It was the Martin family lawyers that investigated the phone records and saw that the call time corresponded exactly to when the confrontation occurred.

a virtual reenactment that puts both the prosecutors and defense versions/timelines into a video. I think the points you make about the calls will be part of the proof that this was a murder. Nothing about Trayvon Martin strikes me as a person who's looking to jump an older guy who outweighs him by 60-70 lbs. And given Zimmerman's prior record, infatuation with crime-stopping, and obvious prejudices, I think he was looking for his fantasist Rambo moment that night.
