Oh, Fuck Ann Romney:
Let's get this out of the way first: Nothing said following this paragraph is meant in any way to denigrate the suffering that Ann Romney has endured first as a victim of multiple sclerosis since 1998 and then as a breast cancer survivor, first diagnosed in 2008. If you know anyone with MS or have it yourself, you know that simply existing can be a pain-filled hell, no matter how much money you have. And, as an MS website notes, ironically now, "Ann's health has become a full-time job for her." So are we clear about that? All respect on dealing with the diseases. Now, that said...

Fuck her. And fuck everyone, from the Obama administration to Fox "news" numbskulls, who piled on what Democratic strategist and CNN contributor Hilary Rosen said on Wednesday night. Rosen didn't say a goddamned thing that was wrong when she offered that Ann Romney "has actually never worked a day in her life."

Ann Romney has lived a privileged, pampered life and she has done nothing that anyone would associate with a "job," and that includes her stay-at-home mothering, readily assisted by nannies and servants. She has a degree in French from Harvard and her major activity is dressage (which, apparently, is some fancy horse thing involving riding crops and jodhpurs and jaunty hats). Rosen was addressing Mitt Romney's remark that he listens to Ann on economic issues affecting women. Mitt Romney getting advice on the economy from his wife is like him getting foreign policy advice from Seamus, the roof-riding family dog. (Although, if you think about it, "Shit yourself until someone hoses you off" isn't bad advice for a nation.)

Are we really doing this again? Are we really having some worthless fucking debate over how hard it is to be a stay-at-home parent? President Obama said, "There's no tougher job than being a mom." Really? Ask a coal miner. Ask a sweatshop worker. It's fucking stupid. Are we just back to Hillary Clinton and the motherfucking cookies? Oh, wait, Michelle Malkin's quoting that 1992 remark, so the Rude Pundit supposes that we are.

the home she is at is`t bad but she`s been working overnights where it`s ...well there are only a few people who could do what she does for 12+ an hour. there`s at least one worker a week that injures themselves while doing their job. my wife`s shoulder is going out because of lifting and or turn people.

there`s not many people who can do those jobs is there...

That's the full-time job I had while going to Grad school full-time. When I finished with an MA in Community Mental Health counseling I discovered that while I had been too busy and exhausted to even watch the news, Reagan had systematically dismantled most of the Community Mental Health centers in America. The best economic advice for women Anne could give is "Don't vote for Republicans."

I have 5 bad disks in my back, two bad knees, one bad ankle, and one bad hip. I was retired until this year. I had to go back to work, as my husband lost his job due to the recession and hasn't been able to find another.

Now we run a restaurant together. In spite of working 14-hour days on my feet, lifting 5 gallon kettles of soup, it's a lot easier than anything in the nursing field.

Being a housewife is a piece of cake. Women with jobs have to do everything housewives do, after putting in 8-10 hours in the salt mines.

in a quick because I took off his anti-anxiety coat and he had a hot spot that turned into an open red sore! I usually pay $15 and take him to a local place to get him shampooed because he is so terrible, (I tried to do him in the kitchen sick once and he jumped out of my arms and fell on his back!).

Anyway, I was 3/4 of the way doing it and I was crying from pain in my back. I don't know how these people do this sort of work. I know I have been very lax with the exercises I am supposed to be doing but damn the pain!

He is doing fine now. His wound healed up all better. I was able to put special cream on him and he is good. He just has very sensitive skin.

My point is I don't know how some people work back breaking jobs!

Her future will depend on what kind of MS she has: Relapsing, Relapsing/Remitting, progressive, chronic progressive l/chronic progressive ll. Not to mention any future breakthroughs in treatment. JFK was a compassionate LEADER that was at the forefront of a new American era of Peace and Prosperity for all. He was a beacon of hope for a better future and for what America could be for all of us.

Bobby in his later years was simply a beautiful and compassionate person. His speeches during the 1968 Presidential Campaign and his Indianapolis speech the day M.L. King was assassinated was filled with love and hope and compassion for others and greatness. There were riots all over the country from the killing, but there was no such thing happening in Indianapolis, perhaps from Bobby's compassion alone?

Teddy was the Liberal Lion for his entire Senate Career and crafted legislation to help the less fortunate all the freaking time.

And then the second generation Kennedy's - gets a little fuzzy info wise for me here, but Bobby JR. is a beautiful person doing beautiful work on behalf of the less fortunate all the time. Still plugging away for justice and fairness any way he can.

Romney-the-Vulture-Capitalist is a different can of worms. He seems to be compassionate only about growing his already staggering fortune even further regardless of the human misery and wrecked lives his form of "enterprise" creates.


I find Mitt to be the epitome of everything wrong with America today. The poster boy of crony capitalism and greed is good and dismantling perfectly fine companies so as to extract the maximum amount of money, wrecked human lives and livelihood be damned.

I haven't changed a single thing that I can see so far, but, you got to stand for what you believe. Hilary Rosen is in no way a paid strategist for the Obama campaign. She's actually a paid troll of right wing media producers to make it look as if she speaks for the Obama campaign. Then Romney strategists can cry 'foul' about some alleged hypocritical attack on a candidate spouse, and drag the Obama campaign down to the level the Republicans are comfortable with.

This is NOT about attacking family members. It is about whether Mitt Romney is smart to rely primarily on his wife to explain to him the issues that women in the US are facing today. The point is, because Ann Romney's life has been extremely privileged financially, that he is not hearing (and has repeatedly shown that he is not even aware of) the economic voices of single women (whether they have children or not) who rely on their own jobs to pay the mortgage, the health insurance, the bills, etc. and have no spouse or partner to bail them out; low income parents; women with kids who work outside the home; women who are the primary breadwinners as part of a couple; women who work and care for elderly parents, disabled spouses, etc.; middle class and professional class women who face discrimination in the workplace; and many, many others. In other words, he is willfully ignorant of the concerns of the vast majority of women in this country (and a few men as well!).
