(16,382 posts)It's understandable. I mean, he can't be a total dick since it's his show and he needs a good mix of opinions, but there are a few RWNs he's too warm and fuzzy toward, IMO. Perhaps I'm just overly sensitive.
Edited for grammar.

(21,046 posts)Bill Maher and Sam Harris were pointing out that one of the tenets of the faith of Islam is that infidels shall be killed. That is not a fringe opinion, it is a mainstream opinion of Islam. Ben Affleck refused to believe that.
I was interested in hearing more about Sam Harris' book, but I didn't get to hear anything about it, due to the multiple talking of Kristoff, Steele, Affleck and Bill Maher giving them enough rope to run over the guest who should have been speaking. Affleck asked Harris for statistics about Muslims and how many of them were radical. Harris mentioned a Pew poll in Egypt and other polls, but he was ignored.
As a former court reporter, I would have strangled them one at a time, if possible, to make them speak ONE AT A TIME, because I can only take shorthand of ONE person talking AT A TIME.
My opinion of Ben Affleck plummeted.

(118,677 posts)of what bias is and to use accurate statistics (science). Glad the discussion has started. One person said that Christians in the USA get criticized all the time but nobody can criticize islam it seems. And I think that is true. It is a discussion followers of islam should be involved with too. Comedians do punch through to uncomfortable truths eh. I felt for Affleck. You don't want anyone painted with a broad brush, especially when they are not there to defend themselves. That is sort of instinctive for liberals I think. Brave of Maher to start the discussion.
