The biggest beef this unapologetic Obama supporter has with Obama.

NASA.

We should be tripling the budget for NASA because the ROI is the single greatest ROI this nation experiences with any investment.

We should have communication satellites in orbit around the moon in such a fashion that communication with any vehicle in orbit around the moon is never lost. A permanent station on the moon should already be a reality because, from a mineral perspective, the moon is our greatest resource for future space exploration and moving resources from the moon to other locations in the solar system is more cost effective than moving resources from the earth.

We should already have the plan for manned exploration of Mars in place, regardless of a permanent manned presence on the moon.

And finally, being dependent upon Russia for manned missions to the space station is a national disgrace.

Turning the moon into a resource group makes the moon an international contest-ground. it's tough enough trying to keep Antarctica neutral scientific territory. Imagine other spacefaring nations rushing to take what they can get to "keep pace" with the US. The political ramifications thi could lead to. And of course the impact on those nations that can't afford a space program.

Nationalizing space seems like a pretty terrible idea to me.
